Each individual has various differences but one cannot disagree that women who flock together, kick-ass together. March is International Women’s Month and a good way to celebrate that is to show some support. Homegrown brands are gaining popularity amongst us Millenial and Gen Z-ers, what you didn’t know is that a bunch of our favourite brands are actually founded by women. Home of curated goods, Carla Sison (an avid thrift shopper and linen-lover) has created a haven for contemporary fashion. Her clothing line Araw is very laid back & perfect for Manila’s tropical weather. She started the line with her friends and recently opened her store, Tropa, to open other local brands to more eyes.
Neon Island by Chi Gibbs & Aira Medina
Starting as a way to have an outlet from their teaching day jobs (how cute right?) these two besties made an idea come to life. The patterns from their clothing line were hand painted by the both of them. Without any business background, they started brand only with passion and the belief that anything is possible. Guess they were right! Neon Island is now a celebrated clothing line that offers a multitude of styles and swimwear as well. Now’s who’s ready for summer?
