RECAP: Russ’ SURPRISE Performance During Bazzi’s Concert and Everything That You Missed At The Island Last Night
We told you that he was coming and came he did. The Island was packed with Bazzi’s top fans last night who sang, danced, jumped, and put their phones up in the air for the 21 year old American singer.
From the very start of the show, Bazzi promised the crowd a solid night and a special surprise from “someone”. Opening the set with Paradise then Gone before finally introducing himself to the crowd. “It’s my first time in Manila and I heard some of you have been waiting for five hours!”
After playing Why, he played Star and everyone’s hands were up and swaying in the air! After a solid set of Bazzi on the mic, Bazzi picks up an electric guitar and plays Alone (which he did was a solid guitar solo btw!) and Honest.
“This is my first time ever in this beautiful city,” Bazzi shares. He even said since he’s touring around Asia for two three weeks now. “I’ve only done two to three songs with you guys and I can already say that this might be my favorite stop on the tour so far.” He then played Cartier, which melted all of our hearts.
Bazzi even asked people to “Put your phone lights up!” before he played his major hit single, Beautiful. He ended the sing by saying “Manila, thank you so much you are so beautiful!” After a quick intermission, he comes back on stage and raps “Bazzi’s back, back again, guess who’s back, guess who’s back, guess who’s back” before breaking into solid rap.
Bazzi says that he wants to slow it down a bit because “the second part of the show is gonna be lit”. He plays an acoustic version of BRB with guitarist Nick. Then he played Drake’s Hold on, We’re Going Home. “This is not a Bazzi song bit it is one of my favorites.” he shares.
He goes on to play Dream and Myself before saying “Manila, I may or may not have a surprise guest…” Out of no where, Russ joins him on stage and everyone was shookt af! They sing Russ’ Missin You Crazy and What They Want. Russ is scheduled to perform in his first Manila concert the day after Bazzi’s at The Island. Russ leaves the stage by saying “Manila, make some fucking noice for the fucking legend, Bazzi!”
Picking another song from Cosmic, Bazzi plays 3:15. He ends by saying “Manila, I really don’t want to leave right now.” He ended the night with Mine before coming back out for an encore and sang Caught in the Fire. He finally leaves and makes a promise to come back. “Manila, I’ll see you soon!”
Bazzi even took over The Island pool right after his set! Russ was more than happy to join him!
Afterwards, Bazzi partied a bit more at Revel before heading back to The Peninsula Manila, his official residence for the event.
Missed out on this solid night? Don’t worry! We’re making more of ‘em!
