Liam Payne Fuels Every Directioner’s Dream of A Reunion
It’s almost four years since One Direction’s last album, Four and their last performance together which happened on December 2015. In those four years, so much has happened. Every single one of them has successfully established their own careers and has created the kind of music they love. But in every directioner’s heart, no matter how happy we all are with their current music, we still can’t stop dreaming about the day they will all perform together in one stage again and sing to us again how we’re all insecure and they don’t know what for.
I mean, if the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC reunited even after 20 years, there’s hope for us directioners, right? And 1D member Liam Payne thinks so, too.
On Nova 96.9 Fitzy and Wippa show, Liam is very much open with a reunion. “Would I like to get back together? Yeah, definitely. You know I’ve been very open about that stuff. I don’t fear the success that was One Direction, it was awesome. Whether or not we’re too different now I don’t really know, I don’t see why there’s no common pass we can’t kind of meet on.”
In the recent Rolling Stone interview of Harry Styles, he wasn’t as enthusiastic as Liam about a reunion. “I enjoy making music this way too much to see myself doing a full switch, to go back and do that again. Because I also think if we went back to doing things the same way, it wouldn’t be the same, anyway.”
In a 2018 British Vogue interview, Zayn Malik completely crushed our dreams of a 1D comeback. “I ain’t spoke to any of them for a long time, to be honest with you. That’s just the way it is. There’s things that happen and things that were said after I left. Snide things. The relationships had broken apart. That’s just the way it is. People move on, people grow apart, people grow up.”
As for the two other members of the iconic boyband, all we got from Niall is “we’ll see what happens” and from Louis, he thinks a reunion is “inevitable”.
Liam Payne also had something to say about his former bandmates’ current music. “I don’t think Harry is a million miles away from what One Direction sounded like. I think he’s still got the characteristics of it, he’s just the more grownup version of it. And also maybe a little bit more rockier.”
As for the reunion, Liam already has something in mind: “I always felt like ‘Slow Hands’, we could all do together in a concert which would be cool.”
Well, I would pay good money to see that. What do you guys think?
