J. Balvin Makes History Again with SNL Performance

Reggae is a genre that’s evidently making a come back these days. More and more artists are becoming more explorative and diving into this genre. Tbh, we’re not even complaining.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, where there’s no nightlife or Spotify – you’ve probably already heard of (or even danced to!) Mi Gente, I Like It or Say My Name. Yup, apart from collaborating with some of this generation’s most loved artists, J Balvin has been making a name for himself too. In fact, just last weekend, he performed at NBC’s Saturday Night Live – making him the first ever Reggaeton artist to ever set foot on the show’s stage.

In case you missed it, this isn’t the first time J Balvin’s made history. He’s also the first ever Latino headliner at Lollapalooza. He’s performed at Coachella too, which is just about every artist’s dream. At the rate he’s going, we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on what’s to come.

Apart from his music, another thing that’s noteworthy about the 33-year-old reggaeton singer is his fashion acumen. Inspired by his fifth album, Vibras – his collaboration with GUESS embodies his music : creative, colorful and reminiscent of carefree summer days.

Launched last March, the collection features socks, a crowd-favourite oversized denim logo jacket, swimwear, accessories, socks, hoodies and of course, graphic tees. Bringing together some retro latin vibes and extra spice – it’s a dream come true for music and fashion lovers alike.
