Beauty Without Labels : Here’s Why We Think Catriona Gray Has A Fighting Chance To Be The Next Ms. U
Apart from the Christmas parties, the gift givings and the get togethers – another thing we look forward to the most during the month of December is the annual Miss Universe pageant. This year, we will be represented by the amazing Catriona Gray.
It’s no secret that the Philippines has always been a powerhouse when it comes to beauty pageants. And even with such enormous shoes to fill and sky high standards to live up to – we think Catriona fits the bill perfectly. More so, we believe that she has a strong fighting chance to bring home the crown to the Philippines yet again.
When Catriona talks about showcasing Filipino pride, she means it. In fact, she only collaborates with indie local designers and artists to showcase their work on the international stage.
For Starters, This Queen Built Her Own Empire
Given that the Philippines is a beauty pageant powerhouse, it’s no surprise that there is quite a number of beauty camps that have gained influence throughout the years. But as much as we love our previous queens and admire the hard work they’ve all put in, it’s worth noting that Catriona built her team on her own. Currently, she is not affiliated to any beauty camp so she’s been training and preparing by herself. This speaks volumes about her passion and grit, don’t you think?
She’s Extremely Talented
Prior to becoming one of the crowd-favourites and strongest contenders in Binibining Pilipinas – Catriona was a budding multi hyphenate. She can host, she can model, and she can sing.
She Has Pretty Solid Mentors
Catriona is surrounded by experienced mentors in various industries. For instance, she is coached by Carlos Buendia Jr. and is also under the tutelage of Hair and Make Up expert Lourd Ramos – her hairdresser of choice who also stood as a stage mom to other queens like Maxine Medina and Katarina Rodriguez.
She’s the Full Package

Philippines! What an amazing journey it's been! 🙏🇵🇭 But it's not a sad ending – it's time to move on to a bigger journey ahead. ✨ To everyone who helped me along the way, maraming salamat sa inyo. I couldn't have been a Miss World without your love, help and support. My promise to help our countrymen still lives on – it was never conditional to having a crown on my head. I will forever carry my head high with the Filipino spirit and carry the Philippines sash over my heart. ❤️🇵🇭✨ I love you all to the stars and beyond, Your torchbearer, Catriona ❤️
It’s one-thing to slay the runway and it’s another to have the crowd cheering during the most dreaded segment, the Q&A. We just know Catriona will be slaying the latter. In a recent feature, one of the beauty queen’s mentors revealed that they keep her training immersive to keep her grounded.
A towering stance, a one-of-a-kind beauty, undeniable talent, and oozing with substance – Catriona has everything that it takes to be the next Ms. Universe.
Best of luck, Catriona! We know you got this!
